The Tour de France is all set to start off this Saturday. This mega cycling event is all set to challenge 192 riders taking part. The first stage of the tour starts on Saturday and will run from Leeds to Harrogate. The second phase that will begin on Sunday will run from York to Sheffield. While the third and the final stage of the tour will be from Cambridge to London. In this tour some riders are learnt as favourites to bring out a result which could thrill the cycling world. Alberto Contador is a name in the list of the top cyclist taking part this year. It is reported that the cyclist have not experienced the second phase of the race on ground level. It is said that this phase is the toughest phase for any cyclist. Alberto one of the race favourites has claimed in the press saying that he has avoided visiting the second phase but has seen the track on video. He believes that it won’t be a bigger problem for him. He agreed while speaking to the press that it will be one of the toughest phases as the blowing winds makes it tough for the riders.
Apart from disclosing the fact that he has avoided visiting the track in real he also stated that his form in the recent past has been good. Despite of his form and him being in shape he still ranked defending champions Chris Froome higher in favourites for winning the race this year. The Spaniard has won more grand tours than any other rider in peloton. The Spanish rider is sure to be the favourite rider as he has a great record in the past tours and his current record makes him one of the cyclist to look out to. While meeting the media Alberto looked confident while the defending champion looked a bit tensed answering some questions.
